CONCEPT
The Savannah Squares

The green public spaces which mark the individual wards according to the original Oglethorpe plan are the key design drivers of the project. From the rational organization of the big picture grid, to the the intermediate organization of the lots around the ward, and then to the one-way traffic loop around the square, to finally the guided paths within the square - these influence the organization of the project's floor plan. In addition, the unique characteristics of the space as a place for commemoration as well as common dwelling help guide the aesthetics of the project.
